SALE Leases New A320 to Aero Lloyd
08 May 2003
Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise (SALE) has leased a new A320 to German charter carrier AERO LLOYD. The aircraft, MSN 1996, was delivered from the Airbus assembly line in Toulouse today and will be on lease to the carrier for a period of five years.
This latest agreement is the third transaction between SALE and AERO LLOYD, which already operates one A320 and one A321 owned by SALE, acquired under purchase and leaseback agreements. The new aircraft is one of SALE’s own firm orders with Airbus, totalling 51 A320 family aircraft.
Robert Martin, Managing Director of SALE, said that the latest deal between SALE and AERO LLOYD reflected the strong relationship between the two companies.
“Despite the problems facing many airlines, AERO LLOYD continues to operate successfully within the European charter market,” he said. “We at SALE are pleased to be associated with such an operation, and look forward to developing further the mutually beneficial partnership between our two companies.”
Established in 1993, SALE has swiftly grown to become one of the world’s leading aircraft leasing companies, with a portfolio now comprising 47 modern aircraft. Offering true global coverage, SALE has offices in Singapore, London, Washington D.C. and San Diego, California.
AERO LLOYD is one of the major German holiday airlines and last year carried some 3.5 million passengers to holiday destinations in Southern Europe and North Africa. For the summer season 2003, AERO LLOYD will operate a fleet of 20 A320 family aircraft, with an average age of just three years.
