SENIOR LEGAL COUNSEL
Reporting to the Head of Legal and Transaction Management, the successful candidate will be responsible for in house legal and transaction management function supporting the Company’s business. This role will be based in Singapore.
Main Responsibilities:
Documentation and Transaction Management
- Draft, negotiate and finalise for execution:
- Operating leases, finance leases, lease extensions or amendments
- Predelivery financings with or without leases
- Loans, bonds and swaps
- Debt restructurings
- Aircraft sales, with or without the lease attached
- Sale of claims
- Any other Company business related legal documents requested by other departments
This will require ability to manage independently or supervise direct reports on Company transactions from start to finish and legal and other services providers and work closely with the various internal departments to achieve a timely, cost effective, smooth and error free documentation
- Supervise the administration and closing the aircraft deals by ensuring drafting, preparation, collection and collation and ensuring bibles and legal folders are complete and original documents compiled and distributed
- Review, analyse, interpret or draft the legal documentation provisions to support technical, procurement, risk or front-line teams in meeting their deliverables
- Assist with building legal departments precedent and legal knowledge database
Lease Enforcement
- Familiarity with local laws and procedures to recover aircraft from defaulting lessees
- Lead team for preparatory or active projects for aircraft repossession in accordance with internal guidance and budgetary approvals
- Internal reporting and co-ordination of the airline bankruptcies, claims and litigation
Corporate / Compliance
- Draft approval papers for the Company and any relevant subsidiary for presentation and approval in respect of each transaction being managed
- Ensure compliance with internal processes for sign offs, approvals, waivers etc as needed for each transaction being managed
Team Management
- Supervise and develop direct reports to drive performance against the set targets
- Support the wide LTM team in achievement of the department goals
Projects & others
- Adhoc business projects as assigned by the Managing Director & CEO, COO, HLTM
Requirements:
8+ years of work experience in an international aviation law firm and/or aircraft leasing Company
