Senior Vice President, Tax
Reporting to Head of Tax, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Tax Strategy
- Formulating and implementing tax strategies within ambit of relevant tax law to optimise the Group’s tax reporting.
- Advising Management on tax rule changes and impact on the Group.
- Establishing and implementing internal policies and procedures to ensure full compliance with internal and external requirements.
Tax Compliance and Reporting
- Ensuring full compliance with tax regulations which includes accurate, timely submission of all tax returns in jurisdictions assigned (including Singapore).
- Undertaking transfer pricing documentation to ensure compliance with local practices.
- Ensuring accuracy of tax provisions and disclosures for Group entities in Singapore and other jurisdictions as required at regular financial reporting cycles.
Tax Advisory
- Supporting the Head of Tax in managing the team and providing guidance to junior team members.
Relationships with Regulators
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with regulators and industry development agencies to maintain and improve existing tax incentive schemes.
- Advocating for better tax treatments applicable to aircraft leasing business.
Ad-hoc Projects
- As and when assigned by CFO and/or Head of Tax.
Job Requirements:
- Chartered Accountant (CA), member of Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals (SCTP), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or with degree in taxation, accountancy or equivalent qualification.
- At least 15 years of relevant tax and accounting experience in a MNC and/or in a public accounting firm specialising in tax.
- Experience in IFRS reporting, tax returns for Singapore (corporate tax, GST and withholding tax) and/or aircraft leasing taxation is a must.
- Experience in tax returns for countries outside Singapore is a strong advantage.
- Strong proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is a must.
- Proficiency in Mandarin (both written and spoken) is an advantage.
- Effective working knowledge of Microsoft Office / 365 applications, particularly Excel and Word, is a must.
- Experience in identifying, suggesting and implementing improvements to tax reporting and compliance processes through IT and other tools is a strong advantage.
- Experience in motivating teams to achieve goals, monitoring work progress and conducting performance evaluations is a must.
- Good interpersonal skills, analytical and organised, uses initiative to identify most efficient ways to complete tasks.
- Diligent, energetic and able to complete tasks in parallel within tight deadlines.
- Willing and able to learn quickly, work with minimal supervision and cooperate effectively with peers to complete projects.
