BOC Aviation Delivers Boeing 737-800 Aircraft to Skymark

BOC Aviation has delivered a new Boeing 737-800 aircraft on long-term lease to Skymark Airlines of Japan.  The lease agreement was inked in late 2007 and the aircraft marks the first delivery by BOC Aviation to a Japanese carrier.

The aircraft will join the low cost carrier’s current fleet of 10 Boeing 737-800 aircraft and fly domestic trunk routes from Tokyo to Asahikawa, Fukuoka, Hokkaido, Kobe and Okinawa.

Steven Townend, Deputy Managing Director & Chief Commercial Officer of BOC Aviation, said the delivery underscored the continued demand by airlines for young and fuel efficient aircraft amidst a challenging economic environment. 

“Skymark has established itself as a reliable and reputable low cost carrier in Japan since its inception in 1996.  We are pleased to support its fleet growth and look forward to working with them again in the future,” he added.
