BOC Aviation Takes Delivery of First Ordered Embraer E190 Aircraft

BOC Aviation has taken delivery of its first Embraer E190 aircraft ordered directly from the manufacturer.  The aircraft is the first of three E190 aircraft to be leased to Air Astana, the flag carrier of Kazakhstan.  The other two aircraft are scheduled to be delivered in Spring 2013 and 2014 respectively. 

“We are very pleased to work with BOC Aviation to take delivery of this aircraft and further expand our network,” said Mr. Peter Foster, President of Air Astana.  Air Astana was recently awarded 4-star rating by Skytrax which also named it the best airline in Central Asia and India.

“This is our very first aircraft ordered directly from Embraer,” said Mr. Steven Townend, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Commercial Officer of BOC Aviation.  “The E190 is an aircraft that delivers sound operating benefits to our customers and we look forward to having more airlines on board.” he added.
