Vice President, OEM Strategy and Procurement (Engines)


Reporting to Head of OEM Strategy & Procurement, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

 

  • Leading and managing BOC Aviation’s fleet regarding engine shop visit planning and monitoring, engine leasing and trading activities, for all stages of its life cycle. Maximize inherent asset value of engines and Auxiliary Power Units (APUs).
  • Reviewing technical or operational information from Lessees, Manufacturers, Vendors, Regulatory Authorities and other industry sources and determine how this affects the powerplants in BOC Aviation’s fleet.
  • Benchmarking engine and APU related maintenance costs, including new engine/APU types. Set standards for all engine and APU-related maintenance reserves or return compensation values.
  • Liaising with powerplant OEM’s and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) companies as required to support transition, sales, and procurement projects. Monitor new engine types and developments, ensure appropriate information is provided to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Supporting transition and repossession projects, managing all powerplant related aspects including any engine/ APU shop visit rework and assessment of engine invoice disputes and payments
  • Managing on-lease engine and APU asset works cope approvals, review of subsequent shop reports for lease return condition compliance and invoices as part of reserve claim management.
  • Supporting aircraft placements with lessees and transition projects, including reviewing and maintaining standards for all powerplant related clauses and negotiation of such terms at Letters of Intent and Lease Agreements stages.
  • Managing resolution of aircraft sales due diligence queries from buyers related to engine and APU including related to shop visit forecast / history, supporting aircraft sales timeline for execution of sales deals

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • Degree or degree equivalent in Aerospace Engineering or related major, with at least eight years of aviation industry experience and five years of aviation leasing experience
  • Extensive network of contacts with engine OEM, airline, MRO and lessors.
  • Experience in technical management in some of IAE V2500, PW1100, CFM56, LEAP, GEnx, RR Trent engines.
  • A self-starter, customer-focused and able to work independently.
  • Ability to identify patterns, correlations and trends from data that can provide insights into business operations, customer behaviour and market dynamics
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are a must, as is the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. 
  • Knowledge of lessor IT tools such as Leaseworks, Leasepoint, GE ATS and FlyDocs (or equivalent) advantageous
  • Prepared to travel on a frequent basis.
