28 Feb 2002

Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise (S.A.L.E.) has finalised the lease of two A320 aircraft to Portuguese airline Air Luxor. The aircraft, manufactured in 2001 and powered by CFM56 engines, joined the airline’s fleet this week.

Lisbon-based Air Luxor operates scheduled flights from Lisbon and Oporto to Funchal and Paris, as well as charter services to destinations in Southern Europe, North Africa, Central America, Brazil and Thailand. The carrier operates a modern Airbus fleet, which now includes five A320s.

“Air Luxor is continuing to enjoy growth across its route network,” said Paulo Mirpuri, President of the airline. “S.A.L.E. has been able to meet our needs efficiently and to schedule, enabling us to add these two new aircraft to our fleet in record time.”

“We are pleased to add Air Luxor to the growing list of S.A.L.E. customers and look forward to a long-standing and mutually beneficial partnership with the airline,” said Robert Martin, Managing Director of S.A.L.E. “The swift transition of these aircraft from one airline to another demonstrates the comprehensive in-house capability which S.A.L.E. is able to offer airlines worldwide.”

Established in 1993, S.A.L.E. has swiftly grown to become the world’s leading Asia- based aircraft leasing company, with a current portfolio of 40 modern aircraft and 22 customers in 16 countries across the world. The company has 32 more aircraft on firm order with Airbus and Boeing for delivery through to 2008.
