Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise (SALE) has appointed Jonathan Mahony as its new General Counsel, based in Singapore. Heading the company’s in-house legal team of five professional staff, Mr Mahony will be responsible for all contractual issues related to SALE business, including the negotiation of purchase, lease and finance agreements.
Mr Mahony comes to SALE from Denton Wilde Sapte in London, where he was a Partner specialising in cross-border and domestic aircraft finance and leasing issues. He brings to the company over 12 years of experience specialising in aircraft and asset financing issues, having previously worked with Johnson Stokes & Master in Hong Kong and Allen & Overy in London and Tokyo.
SALE Managing Director Robert Martin said that the wide international experience gathered by Jonathan Mahony would play a key role in enabling the company to perform with optimum efficiency in the world market.
“With aircraft already in service in 17 countries and the geographic spread of SALE business set to widen significantly, the company has to be able to meet the requirements of all kinds of jurisdictions,” he said. “The addition of Jonathan Mahony to our team will enable us to react even more swiftly to the various demands of our customers.”
Established in 1993, SALE has swiftly grown to become one the world’s leading aircraft leasing companies, with a portfolio of 43 modern aircraft. The company has another 31 on firm order with Airbus and Boeing for delivery through to 2008.
