SALE Appoints New Head of Commercial Contracts

Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise (SALE) has appointed Alistair Greig as Head of Commercial Contracts. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, Alistair will be responsible for the negotiation of all contracts with equipment suppliers, including the airframe and engine manufacturers. He will also work closely with the Chief Technical Officer and his technical team in all areas of the technical and purchasing process.

Born in the UK, and a qualified lawyer, Alistair Greig has gained extensive experience in the aerospace and leasing sectors, first with European aircraft manufacturer Airbus and subsequently at a European operating lessor.

Initially working as Legal Counsel at Airbus, Alistair subsequently developed a specialisation in contracts negotiation with the manufacturer’s Leasing Markets Sales Division, as Director and then Deputy Vice President. During his nine years at Airbus, he successfully concluded deals for over 450 new aircraft, including a launch order for the new A380.

In 2001, Alistair moved to Amsterdam to join IEM Airfinance in the position of Senior Vice President Lease Management. In this role, he was responsible for managing commercial aspects of the company’s purchase and leaseback transactions and the conclusion of several key deals with major carriers.

Commenting on the appointment, Robert Martin Managing Director of SALE, said that the addition of a contracts specialist would play an important role in the ongoing expansion of the company’s portfolio.
