BOC Aviation to Lease Two 737-800s to Jet Airways

23 Jul 2007

BOC Aviation has signed an agreement with India's Jet Airways for the lease of two new Boeing 737-800s. The aircraft will be delivered from the Boeing final assembly line in the first quarter of 2008 and will be leased to the airline for a period of eight years each.

Jet Airways, which becomes a new customer for the Singapore-based leasing company, will use the aircraft to increase capacity on its extensive domestic route network.

Robert Martin, Chief Executive Officer of BOC Aviation, said that the company was especially pleased to add an airline of the stature of Jet Airways to its list of customers worldwide.

"As one of the leading carriers of the South Asian region, Jet Airways has a well established reputation for operational and service excellence," he said.

"We are pleased to be able to play a role in meeting the carrier's future fleet requirements and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership between our two companies."

BOC Aviation, previously known as Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise (SALE), is the leading Asia-based aircraft leasing company. Today the company has a fleet of 75 modern aircraft flying with 29 airlines worldwide.

The company has a total of 63 aircraft on firm order for delivery from Airbus and Boeing for delivery through to 2012.

BOC Aviation is owned 100% by Bank of China.
