BOC Aviation Orders More IAE Engines

Singapore-based BOC Aviation has signed a contract with IAE International for the supply of V2500 engines to power 10 A320 family aircraft on firm order with Airbus. The contract also covers options for the supply of engines to power up to 10 more aircraft from the Airbus single aisle range.

Robert Martin, Chief Executive Officer of BOC Aviation, said the company’s latest order underlines the on-going and demand for V2500-powered A320 family aircraft.

“The V2500-powered A320 family has been popular with airlines from every sector of the business and all geographical regions,” he said. “Our latest order with IAE will enable us to build upon our established partnership with IAE, which has already seen us take delivery of 46 V2500-powered aircraft."

IAE is a multinational consortium whose shareholders comprise Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce, the Japanese Aero Engines Corporation and MTU Aero Engines.

BOC Aviation is the leading Asia-based aircraft leasing company. Today the company has a fleet of 74 modern aircraft flying with airlines worldwide. The company has a total of 62 aircraft on firm order with Airbus and Boeing for delivery through to 2012. These include 20 aircraft from the Airbus A320 family.

BOC Aviation is owned 100% by Bank of China.
