Manager, OEM Strategy and Procurement (Engines)


Reporting to Senior Vice President, OEM Strategy and Procurement (Engines), the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

 

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively managing BOC Aviation’s engine and Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) assets, including shop visit forecasting, planning and monitoring.
  • Reviewing technical and operational information from lessees, especially for data integrity/ completeness and determining how this affects and influences powerplants asset values and maintenance cash flows, as well as exposure within BOC Aviation’s fleet.
  • Monitoring engine trend monitoring reports and reviewing information provided by lessees to identify health issues that impact shop visit forecasting.
  • Identifying maintenance cost trends for engine and APU types within the company’s portfolio.
  • Reviewing shop reports and invoices for maintenance reserve claims, supporting maintenance compensation calculations and lease return condition compliance.
  • Monitoring and maintaining engine records from lessees in the company’s records databases (General Electric Asset Transfer System (GE ATS) and Leasepoint)
  • Supporting aircraft placements with lessees and aircraft sales projects, including analysis of existing related lease agreement clauses for each engine type and negotiation of such terms at letter of intent and lease agreements stages.
  • Supporting portfolio analysis via analytics of published Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) data and aviation databases.
  • Creating reports, dashboards and data visualization for effective communication of Engine Department data (including weekly, senior management, risk quarterly reports).

 

Requirements:

  • Degree or degree equivalent in Aerospace Engineering or related major, with at least three years of relevant aviation industry experience with various powerplant models.
  • Experience in technical management of LEAP, PW1100, IAE V2500, CFM56, GE90, GEnx, RR Trent engines beneficial.
  • Good understanding of technology platforms including data analysis, business intelligence and visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
  • Ability to identify patterns, correlations and trends from data that can provide insights into business operations, customer behaviour and market dynamics
  • Knowledge of lessor IT tools such as Leaseworks, Leasepoint, GE ATS and FlyDocs (or equivalent) advantageous.
  • Good working knowledge of powerplant OEM portals and Microsoft Office applications.
  • A self-starter, customer-focused and able to work independently.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are a must, as is the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Prepared to travel on a frequent basis.
