BOC Aviation Leases One New A320-200 Aircraft to TransAsia Airways

31 Oct 2011

BOC Aviation has signed an agreement with TransAsia Airways for the lease of a new A320-200 aircraft.  The aircraft, powered by IAE2527-A5 SelectOne engines, is scheduled for delivery in March 2012.  This deal marks the first time that BOC Aviation has leased its own aircraft to a Taiwanese carrier.

Mr. Vincent Lin, Chairman of TransAsia Airways, said the aircraft is needed to meet strong growth in regional services, especially on direct routes between Taiwan and mainland China.  “TransAsia is delighted to partner BOC Aviation to provide our customers with a modern and reliable aircraft for a safe and comfortable flight.  We look forward to a long-term relationship with BOC Aviation, the largest aircraft leasing company in Asia.”

“We are very proud to welcome TransAsia Airways as our first Taiwanese lessee,” said Mr. Steven Townend, Deputy Managing Director & Chief Commercial Officer of BOC Aviation.  “As the largest Asia-based aircraft operating lessor, we are focused on expanding our business in this region and playing a key role in the Asia-Pacific aviation industry.”

BOC Aviation is the leading Asia-based aircraft leasing company with a portfolio of 178 modern aircraft operated by airlines worldwide. In addition, the company has 60 aircraft on firm order.  BOC Aviation has one of the youngest fleets in the industry with an average aircraft age of less than four years.

BOC Aviation is 100% owned by Bank of China, one of the largest banks in the world.
