BOC Aviation’s IAE V2500 Engine Orders Exceed 100 Shipsets

10 Jul 2012

BOC Aviation has signed an agreement with International Aero Engines for the firm order of V2500 engines to power four more A320 family aircraft ordered from Airbus.

This is in addition to the 25 shipsets that BOC Aviation ordered in 2010 and brings its total V2500 engine shipset orders to 101.

This incremental order builds upon a preferred relationship which has existed between BOC Aviation and IAE for over a decade. The continuation of this relationship will allow BOC Aviation and IAE to provide customers with reliable engines that are popular with airlines operating these aircraft types.

Robert Martin, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of BOC Aviation, said: “The operating economics of the V2500 engines make it a popular choice among our customers. We are pleased that our total orders with IAE have exceeded 100 shipsets and look forward to continuing the long-standing relationship with IAE.”

“BOC Aviation has identified the clear operational advantages of the V2500 for the A320 family, which generates real value for their customers, both in terms of bottom line and environmental impact,” said IAE President Jon Beatty. “The V2500’s remarkable performance under a wide range of operating conditions makes it the powerplant of choice for airlines around the world”, he added.

BOC Aviation is the leading Asia-based aircraft leasing company with a portfolio of 188 modern aircraft operated by airlines worldwide and another 63 aircraft on firm order. The Company has one of the youngest fleets in the industry with an average owned aircraft age of less than four years.
