Manager / Assistant Manager, Tax
Reporting to Head of Tax / Senior Manager, Tax (Depending on job allocations), the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Performing all aspects of tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely preparation and submission of all tax returns with correct supporting information and timely payment of taxes in Singapore and other jurisdictions as required.
- Ensuring accuracy of tax provisions for Group entities in Singapore and other jurisdictions as required at monthly, quarterly and semi-annual financial reporting cycles.
- Assisting to communicate with the Group’s external tax advisors to ensure compliance with tax filing requirements and delivery of tax advisor assignments on agreed timelines, quality level and fees.
- Preparing and maintaining tax budget and forecast information for both tax provisioning and tax cash flows in cooperation with Financial Planning and Analysis team.
- Determining and informing the tax team and management team of tax impacts from changes to forecasts and business scenarios.
- Other assignments as and when assigned by Head of Tax and other tax team members.
Job Requirements:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) with degree in accountancy or equivalent qualification.
- At least three years of relevant tax and accounting experience in a MNC and/or in a public accounting firm specialising in tax.
- Experience in analysing IFRS reporting and preparing tax returns for Singapore (corporate tax, GST and withholding tax) is a must.
- Experience in preparing tax returns for countries outside Singapore is a strong advantage.
- Strong proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is a must.
- Proficiency in Mandarin (both written and spoken) is an advantage.
- Effective working knowledge of Microsoft Office / 365 applications, particularly Excel and Word, is a must.
- Proficiency in Oracle financial system is an advantage.
- Experience in identifying, suggesting and implementing improvements to tax reporting and compliance processes through IT and other tools is a strong advantage.
- Good interpersonal skills, analytical and organised, uses initiative to identify most efficient ways to complete tasks, keeps team members informed of progress on assignments.
- Diligent, energetic and able to complete tasks in parallel within tight deadlines.
- Willing and able to learn quickly, work with minimal supervision and cooperate effectively with peers to complete projects.
